Your Collection

This week's collection comes from Rory O'Neill of Indianapolis, IN.

"Here are some photos of my 1983 Yamaha YZ490k. I bought it a couple of years ago and have been vintage racing it in the Ivorme series (which is an awesome series, with a lot of good people involved) here in Indiana. I've been gradually adding bits and pieces to it to make it look and perform better over time. It has a Pro-form cone pipe and silencer, Pro-form modified cylinder, TCR laced the polished stainlees steel spokes to gold excel rims, Plasticwerks made the OW replica side number plates, Renthal bars and sprockets, DID chain, Bridgestone tires, Pro-form footpegs and Pro-form also modified the suspension to suit me.

I love this bike as it's the first bike that I have ever gotten on for the first time and felt that I had been riding all my life. And with the mods done to it, it just keeps feeling better and better, so much so that I sometimes race it in the over 30 class with the modern bikes. Last year I finished third at the Budds Creek amateur day at the national on it in the Over 30 class and it was all down to the bike. I took these photos last week as I was getting it ready for the RedBud Legends/Vintage bike show, which I think is an absolutely awesome deal. How cool is it to see the best MXers in the world race on the best bikes and then also see the names from the past riding around on bikes from their era. Anyways, I hope you like the photos of my bike; it's a work in progress, but a ton of fun at the same time."
